Born in Calgary, Alberta, Michael McClennan has been busy making his mark on the Canadian jazz scene. After leading his own group since 2003, he has finally recorded his debut CD, Sing In Me Muse.

In January 2007, Michael was named the SOCAN/IAJE Emerging Composer, and was commissioned to compose a new work for big band. Love And Laughter was premiered by the Jill Townsend Big Band at the 2007 International Association for Jazz Education Conference in New York City.

For over a decade, Michael has been music director, arranger and bassist for award winning vocalist Heather Bambrick, and co-produced two highly acclaimed CD's -It's About Time, and Those Were The Days.

Michael is an active educator, and is a faculty member at Toronto's Humber College.
